In Spring 2020, QVS conducted a major outreach survey to gather stories and impact from QVS Alumni. At the time there were 160 young adults who participated in the QVS program. Over two-thirds of these Alumni responded to the survey. (In summer 2020, we surpassed 200 QVS Alumni!)

This report includes testimonials, statistics, and learnings across the three pillars of the QVS experience: Community, Spirituality, and Service. Some exciting highlights include:

  • 90% of surveyed Alumni are still in relationship with individuals from their QVS year;
  • 31% of surveyed Alumni currently live in intentional community, many with their QVS housemates;
  • 46% of surveyed Alumni currently attend a Friends meeting, church, or worship group;
  • and so much more!

Surveying Alumni also gave us an opportunity to listen for growing edges that Alumni seek from QVS. For instance, Alumni are eager for more information about how QVS is evolving in our equity work. Alumni reported wanting more of an ‘off-ramp’ from the QVS year, to support them in vocational discernment, searching for work, and finding spiritual communities post-QVS. Alumni are eager for more connection with one another, and with more connection with QVS as an organization.
