Grounded in the Quaker faith tradition and open to people of all backgrounds, QVS provides a Fellowship opportunity for young adults who live in intentional community with their peers and work in professional settings that aim to change unjust social structures. QVS addresses racial, economic, and gender justice by helping our partner organizations increase capacity to fulfill their missions and we provide young adults with invaluable experience and training that equips them for a lifetime of social change work. QVS currently has houses of service in Atlanta, Boston, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Philadelphia, and Portland OR.
Applications for the 2019-2020 Service year beginning in late August 2019, are now open! We invite young adults 21-30 to consider applying for this year of community, justice work, and spiritual/personal exploration. Some particularly helpful links to resources might be the FAQ page, Site Placements by area of interest, Job Description, and “A Day in the life” videos taking a look at what it might be like to serve as a QVS Fellow. Applications can be found here on our website, and are due by March 15. We also ask for three reference forms to be completed by that date.
Please spread the word to folks in your networks and communities who might be interested in this opportunity!
“There is no doubt that I will look back on this year of my life as one of the most difficult and soul stretching, but I would be hard pressed to find a more life-giving, supportive way to enter into young adulthood with the love, growth, and compassion I have received this year.”
